Channel Update:

The channel has moved between the Island and the North spit on the North side. NYS Parks and Recreation will not mark a channel that is not 4' deep and the other day it was 3' then 5 then 3'.  You can see the darker water.  The channel going out into the lake was still close to the rock pile on the north side.  The water levels were also low the day the measurements were taken.  Please use caution!!!!

Our Association is still working on getting our permits changed with the DEC, Corps of Engineers, Department of State and the US Fish and Wildlife.  We are asking for modifications to dredge the outside of the channel in the lake mechanically and have a quote for 129,000.00.  We are also asking for modifications of the sand placement.  We would like to work with the NYS Parks Department who owns Sandy Island Beach and have the sand put back there. We have been working on these modifications since last October.

WOW...Senator Patty Ritchie secured $75,000.00 to help fund the outside dredging project for the channel into Lake Ontario.  Our association is very grateful and thankful to the Senator and her office staff. We would also like to thank Dave Bimber, Nancy Ridgeway Town of Sandy Creek Supervisor and Mike Kastler... Thanks to all who helped make this happen.  We should be able to start soon as our permits are being modified and we are working with the NYS Parks to place the sand.
